Fifteen Kenyan students are crying for help after their sponsor failed in paying their fees.
The students are said to have been financially supported by the Nandi County government to further their studies in Finland.
According to them, they have been out of class at the Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT, with arrears of around Ksh.13.5 million (£90,000).
Talking to one of the known media stations, one of the students known as Raabia Hussain, said that since December 1, they have been going through suffering in the university they had gone to pursue bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in Nursing and Medicine.
“Unfortunately, the Nandi government did not pay in accordance with the terms of the scholarship. If you will not meet all the requirements needed to facilitate the students, why commit to sending them abroad?” Hassain said.
Hussain added that they are now in the streets not in classrooms or their homes as a result of the situation.
