At least Four people dies and several others were injured after a bus belonging to Tahmeed Company was involved in an accident near Kibunja along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway on Monday evening.
On the report of the driver of the bus who escaped with minor injuries, he was avoiding colliding with an oncoming lorry when he lost control of the vehicle and knocked some students who were walking home from school.
Molo Sub-County Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Susan Wanjiku said 17 people are still receiving treatment at Molo Hospital while two of the patients have been transferred to Nakuru PGH hospital.
Kuresoi North Sub County Police Commander, Judah Gathenge said there are three infants among those critically injured.
He said the bus belonging to Tahmeed Company was ferrying passengers from Eldoret to Nairobi when the accident occurred.
“The bus lost control on a downhill stretch and no other vehicle was involved,” Judah said.
Gathenge said a student had just boarded the bus a short distance from the accident scene.
The ill-fated was towed to Mau Summit Police Station.
