Musalia Mudavadi has warned the Azimio la Umoja coalition against attempts to resume their weekly demonstrations which they have announced will be after the Holy Month of Ramadan comes to an end.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary said the move by Raila and his troops is aimed at triggering chaos and disruption terming it as a recipe that could plunge the country into political uncertainty.
Joining the Coast Muslim community led by EALA MP Hassan Omar for an Iftar dinner in Mombasa on Sunday, Mudavadi called on politicians to restrain themselves from driving the country back into dark days as witnessed in the post-election violence of 2007/2008.
“I want to tell Azimio, please do not try and wish a revisitation of ICC on Kenya. You are provoking Kenyans, trying to instigate chaos and trying to create a spark that will lead to disruptions of normalcy. President Ruto and many Kenyans have restrained themselves trying to ensure the country remains peaceful,” said Mudavadi at Burhani Sports Club.
Musalia further urged Kenyans to not destroy their country saying that the shrewd move and ill-motive by Azimio is an exercise in futility.
He added that the demands being propounded by Azimio are not honest and realistic, but a diversionary tactic to disrupt the plan for Kenya Kwanza to work for the people.
“When you say the servers have to be opened, why are you forgetting and taking Kenyans for a fool? The Supreme Court ordered that the servers be opened and the Registrar of the Supreme Court led that exercise under the watch of Lawyers from both Azimio and Kenya Kwanza. What new thing do you want?” posed Mudavadi.
He also noted that Kenyans are facing tough times at the moment and engaging in meaningless demonstrations is causing the country a lot of negative impacts as far as economic progress is concerned.
