Isaiah Osugo former prisons commissioner has passed away after along battle with cancer.
Osugo is the former commissioner general of Kenya Prisons. He was appointed to the correctional department by the late president Mwai Kibaki in 2008 from his previous post as the Nairobi Provincial Criminal Investigations Department (CID) chief, replacing Gilbert Omondi who had retired.
Osugo’s tenure ended on March 19, 2019, paving way for Wycliffe Ogalo as the new commissioner general.
According to reports, Osugo died at the age of 67 years on Monday evening at around 7 p.m. while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital where he was battling cancer.
He had also sought treatment at a hospital in India however his condition worsened.
