• This comes at a time when cases of Kenyans being defrauded in land deals have been on the rise.
• The company came forth and admitted the issue saying that they know their challenge in delivering on some projects have led to frustrations to their clients.

Lesedi Developers have denied allegations of defrauding unsuspecting investors days after agitated investors stormed their offices in Thika protesting what they said is non-committal by the company on the progress of processing documents, one year after they paid in full for parcels of land whose title deeds are not yet out.

This comes at a time when cases of Kenyans being defrauded in land deals have been on the rise. Experts in land transactions however say Kenyans are partly to blame for ignorance of the due processes and failure to conduct due diligence before investing their money.

“…when you find that somebody goes on and tell you this is their property and you don’t want to spend an extra coin other than the purchase price to go to the necessary requisite, land and survey offices that’s when you end up realizing that cheap is expensive,” advocate Mwangi Kamau said.
He also urged citizens and land buyers to always confirm the genuinety of the documents and the property on the ground.

Earlier, the company came forth and admitted the issue saying that they know their challenge in delivering on some projects have led to frustrations to their clients and they are truly sorry.

“The allegations of scamming and conning people are ridiculous and completely untrue…,” Lesedi Developers.
