President William Ruto has on Friday made new appointments to the boards of key parastatals as he keeps replacing Uhuru Kenyatta’s appointees with his people.

Some of the notable names in the list of new appointments include former Governors Cleophas Lagat, Jack Ranguma and former Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi who have been appointed as chairpersons of the boards of Rivatex, SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority and Retirement Benefits Authority respectively.

President Ruto also revoked the appointment of Linus Gitahi as the chairperson of the Rivatex East Africa Limited Board of Directors.

Gitahi, who was picked for the role by Kenyatta in August 2022, was barely eight months into his appointment.
Gitahi has been replaced by Cleophas Lagat, who will serve a three-year term.

President William Ruto has replaced Mary Chao Mwadime, who was appointed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in April 2021 for a term of three years which is yet to expire. Mwadime has been replaced by Daniel Ruto.

Also pushed out, is the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board chairperson Caroline Kariuki, who was appointed by former President Kenyatta in July 2022. Until her appointment to Vision 2030, Kariuki served as the CEO of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA).

Kariuki has been replaced by former Nambale Member of Parliament (MP) Sakwa Bunyasi, who will serve as Vision 2030 chairperson for three years.

Dr. Samier Muravvej, a dental surgeon and owner of The Smile Centre Dental Clinic, has been appointed the chairperson of the Kenya National Hospital (KNH) for three years, replacing George Opondo Ooko, whose three-year term was set to end in April 2023.

Others appointed through a Gazette Notice dated February 10, 2023 is dental surgeon Samier Muravvej who has been appointed to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Kenyatta National Hospital and former Nambale MP Sakwa Bunyasi as Chairperson of the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board.

• Elias Shill and Christine Jepkoech as members of the Board of Directors of Northern Water Works Development Agency.
• Sakwa Bunyasi to be the Chairperson of the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board.
• James Gathaka Wanyaga be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Tana Water Works Development Agency.
• Ngeny Biwott to be the Chairperson of the Board of the Special Economic Zones Authority.
• Cleophas Lagat to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Rivatex East Africa Limited.
• Hussein Tene Debasso to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya National Trading Corporation.

• Amin Deddy Mohamed Ali to be a member and Chairperson of the Board of the Local Authorities Provident Fund.
• Beatrice Kones to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Local Authorities Provident Fund.
• Francis Kigo Njenga as a Member and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority.
• Peter Anchinga — Chairperson Francis Kivuli — Member Under Paragraph (d)— Christopher Mwangi Ahmed — Member to be members of the Disciplinary Committee of the Council of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
