Kenyan Ambassador to Nigeria Dies.

The Kenya High Commissioner to Nigeria Hon Dr. Ambassador Wilfred Machage, dies in Abuja after a short illness.

Wilfred Machage was a Kenyan Ambassador to Nigeria.

The ex-Migori Senator and a former assistant minister died in Nigeria at the age of 65 years.

The Ambassador began his political career in the year 2002, where he was elected as a Member of Parliament to represent the Kuria community and he served for three terms.

In the year 2013-2017, he served as the first Migori Senator.

Dr Machage was appointed to the position by President Uhuru Kenyatta in January 2018.

He reportedly collapsed at his home on Saturday, after which he was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.

Kenyan Ministry of Foreign affairs in a statement said,

“The ministry of foreign affairs regrets to announce the sudden death of Hon Dr. Ambassador Wilfred Machage, Kenya High Commissioner to Nigeria, which occurred today. Ambassador Machage collapsed at his home and was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after at around 12.30pm, Saturday afternoon, in Abuja, Nigeria.”
