ODM leader Raila Odinga visited Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege at Nairobi Hospital where she is admitted.

This follows her absence from the Tuesday hearing before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to answer charges of uttering sentiments breaching the electoral code of conduct.

Her lawyers told IEBC Electoral Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee that she was admitted to the hospital on February 16, requesting the hearing to be re-scheduled to a further date after healing,

However they did not disclose the particulars of her condition.

In photos shared on her Twitter account on Tuesday, lawmaker was seen bedridden with her wrist wrapped in bandage as she posed for a photo with Odinga and leaders who accompanied him.

Odinga was flanked by leaders allied to the Azimio la Umoja outfit among them Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, Narok Senator Ledama Olekina, MPs Kanini Kega (Kieni), Junet Mohamed (Suna East) and Homa Bay Woman Rep Gladys Wanga.

Through her Twitter account, Sabina stated: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases…great is your faithfulness oh Lord. Thank you baba for the visit and Team ni Sisi.”

Meanwhile, the hearing of the case against her was re-scheduled to March 8, 2022, with IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati urging her to refrain from addressing the case in public forums.
