A 19-year-old boy who was suffering from head injuries sustained during the Azimo la Umoja antigovernmental protests has passed away at the Kenyatta General Hospital in Nairobi.
Report from the doctor on Monday showed that the late Jamleck Mwanza died from a brain hemorrhage due to the head injuries he sustained on Thursday, March 30.
According to Mwanza’s family, after looking for their son for days, they found him at KNH on Saturday, April 1.
“I am saddened because he was my first born and I was working hard so that he can go to school, I wish politicians would sit down and talk instead of going to the streets because many people get hurt and some are children,” said his mother.
Waiting for a post-mortem to be conducted on the body, Mwanza’s family have urged disagreeing political leaders to hold talks and avoid engaging members of the public in their squabbles to avoid a distasteful aftermath.
